As part of James Watt’s Bicentenary we will be exploring the life of James Watt Jnr who lived at Aston Hall from 1819 until his death in 1848. Chris Rice will lead a talk followed by a guided tour exploring this fascinating man’s history.

Was James Watt Jnr a Jacobin? What was he doing in France during the French Revolution? Find out about his famous literary friendships, and his dedication to upholding his father’s reputation.

The morning will begin with the talk followed by a guided tour of Aston Hall. The Hall will be open until 4pm should you wish to spend the rest of your afternoon leisurely exploring this grand old mansion.
