Birmingham Museums is saddened to learn of the death of Kane Walker. Kane was the subject of a piece of art featured in our Inspire 18 youth art competition over the summer last year.
Artist Oliver (aged 18) wrote in the accompanying label:
“This is 'Kane' you may have seen him by Birmingham markets sitting on the pavement, he is homeless. He designed this piece by telling me what he wanted to express. It is a project I’m doing called 'Don’t be Artless', I attempt to give the homeless a voice through art.”
We would like to share the artwork by Oliver to express our condolences for Kane’s family and friends.
