Engineering at Work Day

Engineering at Work Day takes place on Wednesday 30th September and Thinktank is delighted to offer FREE places to Year 8 and 9 classes for this unique event.

Engineering at Work will enable students to meet people who work in engineering, including -

  • Graduates from Rolls-Royce
  • Staff from Aston University Engineering Academy
  • Engineers from BAM Construction
  • Members from the Institute of Mechanical Engineering

This inspirational event aims to inspire students to consider a career in engineering, through workshops, demonstrations and discussions.

School groups will take part in half a day of activities, with the remainder of the day free to explore the museum. Schools are booked into a morning or afternoon slot with each session containing:

  • A 25min introductory show
  • Two 35min workshops - all groups will receive a workshop led by Rolls-Royce graduates and a session by either BAM Construction or Aston University
  • A Planetarium show

The morning session runs from 10am - 12.30pm and the afternoon session is from 12pm - 2.30pm.
