Meet our Collecting Birmingham Ambassadors

As the Collecting Birmingham project builds momentum we are delighted to be able to introduce four new members of our volunteer team; our Collecting Birmingham Ambassadors!

For the next year each of the four wards of Aston, Ladywood, Nechells and Soho will have an Ambassador who will help spread the word about the Collecting Birmingham project, assist with our exciting events, help out with social media and be out and about in the wards. Keep your eyes peeled because you will be sure to meet one of them very soon!

When we met up for the first time earlier this month we asked our Ambassadors to describe Birmingham in three words. All four are incredibly proud to live in the city and can’t wait to celebrate Birmingham and its people through the project, so narrowing down to three words was tricky but they got there!

Collecting Birmingham Ambassador: Manahil

Manahil is our fabulous Aston Ambassador. For her Birmingham is ‘underrated, modern and full of opportunities’.

Collecting Birmingham Ambassador: Hattie

Hattie is our wonderful Ladywood Ambassador. She describes Birmingham as ‘futuristic, historical and diverse’.

Collecting Birmingham Ambassador: Rachel

Rachel is our super Nechells Ambassador. Her three words for Birmingham are ‘multilingual, multicultural and superdiverse’.

Collecting Birmingham Ambassador: Courtney

Courtney is our fantastic Soho Ambassador. Her Birmingham, in three words, is ‘diverse, welcoming and bustling’.

We are so lucky to have such a great team of volunteers joining the project and we can’t wait to update you with all the exciting things they get up to!

If you would like to learn more about the Collecting Birmingham project, get involved, or sign up to a monthly Collecting Birmingham newsletter, contact us at collectingbirmingham@birminghammuseums.org.uk or 0121 348 8283.

The Collecting Birmingham project has been generously supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
