Sarehole Mill celebrates Spring Bank Holiday with Taste & Liquor market

Holiday vibes will be coming to Sarehole Mill on Sunday 28th May, with the official launch of the site’s season of street food, arts and vintage markets, in collaboration with Taste & Liquor.

Open from 11am – 4pm, street food dishes from across the globe will be on offer, including Italian and Indian cuisine from vendors such as Polpetta, Mr Patels and My Soft Ice Creams.

To help visitors get in the Bank Holiday spirit there will be DJs playing relaxed summer sounds, and cocktails and beers will be provided by awarding winning Purity Ales.

Children’s activities will ensure little ones are entertained too, and there will also be a second hand book sale and vintage market for those looking to pick up a special treat.

This is the first time Sarehole Mill has linked up with Taste & Liquor for the market which will continue throughout the summer and this event also marks the official launch of the heritage site’s new shop. Local residents and visitors to the mill alike will be able to stop off at the new shop to pick up giftware and deli products, including flour, freshly milled on site.

The tea room will also be open serving hot drinks and cakes and the grounds will be filled with the smell of fresh bread as Sarehole Mill volunteers will be baking bread samples using stone ground flour milled on site.

Whilst the market is free to enter, visitors can also explore Sarehole Mill’s links with author J.R.R Tolkien, with half price entry to the working watermill site and discover the site’s 250 year old history.
