Teachers "Build, Code and Learn" workshop with LEGO Education

Thinktank is hosting a series of half day free teacher workshops run by LEGO Education in our brand new LEGO Education Innovation Studio.

Build, Code, Learn – Make Science come to life with coding and LEGO®

For KS2 teachers we have 2 sessions using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0.
For KS3/4 teachers we have 2 sessions using LEGO MINDSTORMS® Education EV3.

The workshop will be run by a dedicated member of the LEGO Education team and involve both fun and useful insights for your classroom. Each participant will receive a FREE STEM based sample kit to take away. (1 per school).

Combining the familiar LEGO® bricks with easy-to-use coding software and inspiring STEM projects, LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 and LEGO MINDSTORMS® Education EV3, empowers teachers to make coding a reality through real life problem solving and hands-on learning experiences.

The workshop will be split into 3 areas. Firstly, there will be an introduction to LEGO Education and a simple activity. Then, you will:

  1. BUILD using LEGO bricks to do an activity to explore ways in which LEGO bricks can aid learning in the classroom. You will then go on to build a robot.
  2. CODE in order to get the robot moving using the iPads supplied and the software on them. Be prepared for some challenges!
  3. LEARN how this is applicable in the classroom, how it relates to the STEM curriculum and what the teaching materials look like.
