Artist Rob Conway returns to the gallery inspired by the artwork of Hew Locke “Jungle Queen II”, and he’s building a giant sculpture out of toys!

Artists often take everyday objects and turn them into something different and extraordinary. As part of the exhibition The Everyday and Extraordinary  Rob will be working across the day to build a sculpture recreating one of our famous Pre-Raphaelite portraits – but only using toys!

Rob will need your help, though! Where should all the toys go? How can Rob make it look 3D and create an optical illusion? You can join in by building parts, help him select which toys go on and where, or watch as this talented artist turns bags of toys into a famous face.

This activity is drop in and you can spend as little or as much time there as you like. It will also be an awesome place for a selfie! Check back during your visit to see the sculpture grow and be part of a community arts piece. Free and fun!

Suitable for over 5’s, contains some small parts. Adult supervision required.
