Join tour guide Christine for tours: Beautiful and Useful (at 12pm) and Made in Brum (at 2pm).
12pm - Beautiful and Useful
William Morris once said: “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”. In this tour we will share the beauty of fabulous Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery objects that are both beautiful and useful, including ones made by Morris’ Firm. As a counter balance we will also look at objects that assert the Aesthetes’ belief in beauty for beauty’s sake.
2pm - Made in Brum
Buttons, buckles and brass are just some of the BMAG exhibits that earned Birmingham the title 'Workshop of the World ' in the C19.
Tickets are £3 per person per tour or are free to Museum Members.
