The Journey of Gold

Museum of the Jewellery Qtr

  • Capacity: 30 pupils
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Cost (per pupil): £4.50
Book Session

Follow the journey of gold as we learn where it comes from, how it’s found, and how it’s turned into jewellery.

Your class will pan for gold, watch our factory machines spring into action and discover how gold is shaped, cut and polished.

The session will finish with the chance for students to make their own pieces of jewellery to take back to school.

Please note: Due to the size of the museum and to ensure all pupils get the best experience possible, this workshop has self-led elements, although we provide all resources required for the workshop. Teacher Notes will be provided when you book your visit to allow you to come prepared on the day.

School visits to the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter are available Tuesday - Friday.
