The Festival of Thinktank is a celebration of innovation, science and technology linked to the fantastic exhibits and collections found inside the museum. 

The festival will be a collection of public programs that are accessible to everyone on weekends and school holidays (Thinktank is closed on 24th - 26th December). 

There are lots of family activities taking place over the Festival of Thinktank and these are included in the price of admission.;

Science Lab
11am-12pm
Join us on the Thinktank Science laboratory to have a go at some fun experiments. Put on your lab coat and goggles and let our team guide you through a variety of different experiments. Not suitable for children aged 7 or under do to health and safety requirements regarding chemicals and equipment.

LEGO Cars, Under 8’s session
2pm-2.30pm and 2.30pm-3pm
Join one of the Museum Enablers as they set a design challenge to build the best car possible. Will you make a vehicle that can carry lots of people, travel super-fast or may be even fly? This activity allows our younger visitors to design, experiment and create in a fun, friendly environment.
In the LEGO Education Innovation Studio, Level 2.

Arts and Crafts: STEAM Activity
3pm-4pm
Get creative with one of our exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) themed activities that you can take home.
In the Lunch Area, Level 0.

Object Handling: Animal Collection
3pm-4pm
Come and see what the team has to show you as they bring the very best of our animal handling collection onto the gallery floors for you to get up close to have a feel and ask questions about.

You can also borrow one of our fun filled backpacks specially designed for 3 - 7 year olds and their parents/ carers from the Ticket Desk. Each pack links to a variety of activities linked to one of our galleries.
