Volunteering at Weoley Castle

Weoley Castle is the ruins of an exquisite fortified manor house built 750 years ago and has a rather splendid team of volunteers supporting it.

Volunteers at Weoley Castle are our Castle Keepers and they are simply extraordinary. Come rain or shine you’ll find them caring for the castle and enthusiastically bringing the ruins to life with their guided tours.

This is a volunteer team who aren’t afraid of hard work and have shown an incredible amount of love and dedication to this important historical site. Our Castle Keepers get involved with a whole host of activities and are absolutely pivotal to keeping Weoley Castle in good condition and accessible to the public. The team meet every other Friday to maintain the castle and ensure the elements don’t get the better of us.

We are extremely grateful to have an amazing volunteer team at Weoley Castle.

If you are interested in volunteering for Birmingham Museums then take a look at the current volunteer opportunities we have available across all our sites.

We welcome and aim to support all applications to volunteer at Weoley Castle so please email volunteer@birminghammuseums.org.uk if you are interested in joining the team.
