At this difficult time so many of us are looking for ways to support those working tirelessly across the NHS. At Birmingham Museums Trust, we have responded to a call out from the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity (which supports the four largest hospitals in Birmingham, The Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull) for reusable coffee cups so NHS staff can enjoy a hot drink during their busy shifts.
Last year we launched the Brum Cup, an environmentally friendly, reusable cup which helps to raise funds for Birmingham Museums Trust, an independent charity which cares for the city’s collection of over 1 million objects, preserves the city’s heritage at nine historic venues and delivers community and educational work across Birmingham.
If you purchase your own Brum Cup for £10 from 1 April – 10 April, as well as helping to support Birmingham Museums Trust, a second mug will be donated free of charge to the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity who will distribute them to staff across the four hospitals.
We all know the difference a hot cuppa can make. There are over 20,000 staff working across the four hospitals and your kind gesture will mean a lot to someone working on the frontline during this challenging time.
You will be able to collect your Brum Cup from the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery shop when it has re-opened.
And once our wonderful city is back to its vibrant and bustling best, you will receive discounts for using your Brum Cup at some of the city’s best independent cafes and coffee shops - so you’ll be supporting some great Birmingham businesses when they will need it most!
Thank you for your support.
