Pinc College, a network of specialist colleges for creative SEND education, has a new home at Aston Hall, which is its first campus in the West Midlands enrolling now for September 2022.
From its new base in the stables at Aston Hall, which is a Grade I listed 17th century mansion and one of Birmingham’s most iconic buildings operated by Birmingham Museums Trust, Pinc College will provide educational studies in art, digital art and complementary studies for neurodivergent young people.
Prospective students will be able to grab a glimpse of the new facilities at Aston Hall by attending one of two open days on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th May 9.30am - 3.30pm.
There will be the chance to see the studio and the surroundings of Aston Hall, try out some art activities, and specialist support staff will be on hand to discuss courses available and career pathways.
Pinc college is an inclusive supportive art college, focussing on creative study programme pathways for 16–25-year-olds. The team support additional/high needs routes to wellbeing, attainment, sustained engagement and employment. With campuses in the Northwest, Yorkshire and the Midlands, campuses operate from within and in partnership with arts and cultural organisations, for an alternative approach to education.
The partnership between Pinc College and Birmingham Museums, will give the students access to arts opportunities across the Trust’s nine museum and heritage sites, beyond their base at Aston Hall.
Kimberley Biddle, Museum Manager at Birmingham Museums’ Historic Properties, said: “Aston Hall is a magnificent setting, and we look forward to the students exploring the richness of the building as part of their creative learning. I’ve been lucky enough to see first-hand the work of team Pinc and the way that focussed art engagement can unleash unbounded creativity in their students.
“We’d encourage anyone interested in finding out more to visit on one of the open days as the studio space is a fantastic facility within our grounds.”
Lisa Alberti, College Lead at Pinc College: "We are looking forward to collaborating with Aston Hall and wider Birmingham cultural settings, for creative learning experiences and pathways to work."
