We are delighted to welcome back visitors to explore both the inside and outside of Sarehole Mill.
Little ones will love exploring our recently updated Woodland Realm , a small area of forest next to the Mill Pond where magic and nature combine to create wonder round every corner! Look out for the many birds and animals that call the pond home. Get moving on the balance beams and make music on the Wall of Sound.
Explore enchanting creations by local sculptor Graham Jones; are they homes for fairies or sprits, elves, or squirrels? Let your imagination decide! Graham is a well-known woodcarver whose work can be seen in local parks across the region, as well in the gold award winning entry to the Chelsea Flower Show for Birmingham City Council. We are thrilled to feature his work at Sarehole for the first time.
Everything in the Woodland Realm is crafted out of sustainably sourced local timber or recycled materials supporting our commitment to sustainability.
Visitors can also see inside the Mill for the first time in 15 months as we resume our fantastic, guided tours. Visit all three floors of this historic water mill and learn the process of milling flour. Pre-book a guided tour .
We are also still offering our Origins of Middle Earth guided walks, exploring the local area that inspired J.R.R Tolkien when he lived near Sarehole Mill as a child (see the What's On page for dates). Combine your tours with a freshly baked, handmade Pizza in the Courtyard from our on-site bakery.
Our Community Shop continues to stock freshly baked goods including white and wholemeal bloomers, sausage rolls, cream teas-to-go and our famous chocolate chip cookies! We also sell great flour, perfect for baking at home, and a range of kitchen cupboard essentials.
With so many reasons to visit the Mill this summer we can’t wait to see you down there!
