Create your own Andy Warhol inspired screenprint with Colin Yates, a fine-artist with specialist knowledge of screenprinting.
The days’ activities will be mostly practical; participants will create several unique prints combining mixed-media and photographic screenprinting. Students will print onto canvas and paper using Warhol’s technique of printing on the floor as opposed to working on vacuum print beds. Photographic screens will be prepared in advance and include a version of the iconic Marilyn Monroe image.
A tour of the magnificent ‘Love is Enough’ exhibition will also be included in the workshop fee, which will enable Colin to explain the various print techniques on show and provide inspiration for students. He will also discuss an assortment of original screenprints from his own collection.
Demonstrations will be given to the whole group, accompanied by individual tuition. Partakers of the course will gain practical skills, an understanding of serigraphy and be able to take home several unique mixed-media screenprints. All materials and equipment will be provided for, although any large paper or canvas would be most welcome!
Workshop tickets cost £30 per person and will take place in the Learning Zone Art Classroom.
Pre-booking is essential.
