Join tour guide Malcolm for a gallery tour:  Birth of the Modern – painting in the later 19th and early 20th centuries. 

Explore a shift in the art world around the turn of the twentieth century, and earlier decades of the 1900s, which saw artists seeking new methods, materials and techniques to challenge the traditional convention and reflect the reality of the ‘modern’ experience.


Tickets are £3 per person per tour or are free to Museum Members .

Remaining tickets will be available on the day from the vestibule reception desk (adjacent to the Round Room) - please call to check availability before arrival to avoid disappointment.

Meet your tour guide in the Round Room to begin your tour. Guided tours last approximately 45 minutes, but some may be longer - please feel free to discuss this with your guide on the day.
