Hundreds and Thousands is a chance to be inspired!  An exhibition of work by young West Midlands students and tutors. 

This exhibition is presented by Jonnie Turpie, the High Sheriff of the West Midlands 2015/16. It is the final event of his year long programme of activities supporting the creativity of young people from the West Midlands.

Artists include:

  • Naren Wilkes - Digital Artist presents Collideoscope, a fantastic Digital artwork first developed for The Public in West Bromwich. It creates beautiful dance movements with your own hands. A dancer from Sampad will run a workshop to help you explore this wonderful work.
  • Steve Chamberlain - Cyclomation, another digital artwork, this time you ‘peddle’ your way through stop frame animation using a converted bicycle!
  • Birmingham City University Illustration students show Portraits stimulated in many cases by artworks in Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery – see if you can find the links!
  • Work is also presented by students from Wolverhampton School of Art and Coventry University.
  • Selfidges are presenting a special exhibition, What on Earth are you wearing? of work from local schools from across Birmingham. 
  • Photographs from the Some Cities Through Your Eyes project will be on show.
  • Video will be on show from the Maia Creatives video project for young people.

You can also make your own artwork in the workshops that accompany this exhibition. Workshops include: Making studio-quality selfies, Draw a self portrait, Discover computer game design, Experiment with digital media and animation and Writing a story in 6 words!
