This year marks the 200th anniversary of Ford Madox Brown’s birth on the 16th April 1821. He was one of the most perceptive Pre-Raphaelite painters of modern life. Brown inspired the artists Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais and William Holman Hunt, the initial founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848.
