The West Midlands Egyptology Society invites you to their first conference held at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

A two day conference focusing on recent archaeological discoveries, excavations, research and theories relating to the heritage and conservation of Ancient Egypt and the Ancient Near East. 

Features academic speakers and 5 keynotes including: 

  • Aidan Dodson - Egypt Exploration Society
  • Elisabeth Sawerthal - Palestine Exploration Fund
  • Alexander Johannes Edmonds - University of Tübingen
  • Stephanie Woolham - Manchester Bio Bank 
  • Dr Jane Moon - Co-director of the Ur Region Archaeology Project

Opening talk by Adam Jaffer, Curator of World Cultures and closing speech by Dr Ellen McAdam, Director of Birmingham Museums Trust.

Conference will include a poster exhibition, pop- up book shop and stalls for local societies.

In the Gas Hall and Education Space at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, with an optional tour of the Museum Collections Centre on Friday.
