Do you remember seeing Asian movies on the Soho Road or the Moseley Road?
A key chapter in the Wonderland exhibition, the story of South Asian film in Birmingham is an important part of our city's history, but it hasn't been well documented. So we're looking for people to come along and share their images and stories about movie-going in the 60s and 70s. Throughout this free drop-in session a number of collectors will be sharing their photographs and memorabilia.
If you have pictures or programmes from the likes of the Alhambra, the Luxor, the Waldorf or the Elite, do come along - you can even get them scanned as high-resolution digital copies.
This event is part of Wonderland, a new project mapping the city's picture-palaces past and present and exploring the stories associated with them. Wonderland is presented by the Birmingham 2022 Festival, supported by Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, produced by Flatpack Festival.
