About Festival of Archaeology Open Day

Join us for a special open day, as part of the Council for British Archaeology's Festival of Archaeology 2024. Learn about the archaeology of Weoley Castle and see some of the archaeological finds discovered at the Ruins.

Meet the Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeology Society to learn more about their project to better understand Weoley Castle Ruins.

Meet the local team from the Portable Antiquities Scheme who work to record archaeological objects found by members of the public in England and Wales. They'll bring along some objects to explore and activities to take part in.

There will be two guided walks around the site with archaeologist Mike Hodder at 11.30am and 2.00pm, tours of the Ruins throughout the day and more fun activities!

£2.00 per person – ticket required for everyone to enter the event. Booking essential.

Places on Mike Hodder walks available on the day on a first come first served basis. 25 places per walk.
