A 250 year old idyllic watermill only four miles from Birmingham city centre.

The tranquil mill pond is a haven for wildlife including herons, mallards and moorhens - and if you are lucky you might spot our resident kingfisher!

Explore Sarehole Mill’s links with Tolkien. Signposts to Middle-Earth is a family-friendly exhibition explores the connections of JRR Tolkien with Sarehole Mill and the surrounding area.

We have recently completed the restoration of Sarehole Mill’s historic bakehouse. Not only did we restore the existing bakehouse to its former glory but we have also developed a modern day bakery in the neighbouring building! Visitors can now enjoy delicious baked goods, including pizza, freshly made in our new onsite bakery!

See it In Action

The waterwheel at Sarehole Mill is currently out of action and we are unable to operate the machinery due to flood damage at the site last the year. We are currently working to return the waterwheel to full working order.

Beautiful old mill rich in history with friendly knowledgeable staff. A must for JRR Tolkien fans.
