Our virtual fun run, Run of the Mill is back, and this time it’s bigger than ever!
Start the New Year on the right foot and banish the January blues with a physical challenge and join us for #RunOfTheMill21. This event is inspired by Sarehole Mill, one of the nine fascinating Birmingham Museums sites across the city, and is a great way to get out and get fit at the start of 2021! Sign up to run or walk 21k during the month of January 2021 to claim your #RunOfTheMill21 medal.
The distance does not have to be completed in one go, you can spread it out over the whole month, you set the pace! There’s no set route, if you don’t know the area why not take a look at this great route option: 5k route around Shire Country Park.
The entry fee is just £10 and this will help raise vital funds to support the work of Birmingham Museums, helping us to continue to care for our historic venues and collection of over 1 million objects that tell the story of Birmingham and its people, and work closely with communities. We’d love you to add some fundraising to your Fun Run, or consider donating a further £20 if you can.
When you have completed the challenge just pop along to Sarehole Mill when it reopens after the winter break on 20th January. The team in the Community Shop will have your exclusive #RunofTheMill21 Medal ready for you to collect (confirmation that you have completed 21k during January using a running app is needed along with proof of sign up). The shop will be well stocked with great post-run treats and drinks too, but do check the Community Shop opening hours if you want to collect your medal straight after your run.
Remember to post your action shots, or why not take a selfie outside Sarehole Mill? Tag us twitter @Sarehole_Mill and use the hashtag #RunOfTheMill21.
By registering to take part you are acknowledging that you are participating in this virtual event at your own risk.
