Destination Space: Spaceports

  • Capacity: 30 pupils
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Type: Workshop
Book Session

The UK is a world leader in satellite design and construction, but currently there are no facilities to launch these craft into space from the UK. Can your students work together to locate the perfect place?

Learners will work in teams to assess different locations in the UK and decide upon a location for their very own spaceport. This cross-curricular session requires teamwork to deduce useful information from various resources and build an argument to support their chosen site. This workshop touches upon science, geography and mathematics as well as serving as excellent practice for finding and using sources to back up arguments.

Please note: This session is only available as part of a 'Build your Own Discovery Day' package, for more information check out Visiting Thinktank page.

Costs: £375 for full day or £240 for half day.

(Available Monday - Friday).
