Museum in a Box

The Museum in a Box service aims to ensure that pupils have the opportunity to engage with the museum's collections in a way that will stimulate, support and enrich their learning.

The boxes provide a unique and rare opportunity to handle real artefacts as the majority of the objects are authentic and some are over 3,000 years old. Replica artefacts and replica costume are also available.

The service operates on a half term basis. Boxes can also be booked during school holiday periods. Nurseries, Schools, Colleges, Universities and other organisations (with premises) are welcome to make bookings for a Museum in a Box.
