Join us at Soho House for an evening of collective community archiving inspired by the ‘Blood & Fire: Our Journey Through Vanley Burke's History ’ exhibition on display at Soho House from May to October 2022.

Attendees are encouraged to bring 2D material that records the story of their family and life in Birmingham. Items may include photographs, certificates, letters, faxes, telegrams and postcards, which will be scanned on-site for Vanley Burke to create an ongoing public record of life for local people.

We are particularly interested to record stories of Black British people and Handsworth residents. Attendees are also welcome to donate materials that will become a part of Vanley’s personal archive.

Meet archiving organisations and experts to learn how to uncover, preserve and explore your family’s heritage.

This event is free and drop-in. Light refreshment available to buy.

This is event is part of a program curated by Birmingham Museums Trust, Vanley Burke, Candice Nembhard and Paul Goodwin.
