This full-day session gives students practical experience of the processes involved in PCR whilst trying to solve  fictional crime.

Using micropipettes, learners will add to samples and then duplicate target DNA.

After lunch, we will collect our samples from the machine and load them into electrophoresis gels before staining and rinsing to reveal who committed the crime! 

Students will also extract their own DNA to take home, and participate in a debating session focused on genetics.
