Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is housed in a stunning Grade II* listed landmark building that has watched over the city’s Chamberlain and Victoria Squares since 1885, welcoming millions of visitors over the years.

We're delighted that Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery has reopened its doors. As we welcome visitors back, we are sharing more of the city’s collections and telling stories about Birmingham as a complex, vibrant, and multicultural city. The gallery spaces have also undergone sensitive flooring and roof restoration work, ensuring that you experience your favourite artworks in a whole new light.

Open spaces include the Pre-Raphaelites, Staffordshire Hoard, Birmingham History Galleries, Round Room, Industrial Gallery, Bridge Gallery, Wild City (a new family gallery), as well as a series of exhibitions.

The tearoom and museum shop are also open with a new food and drink menu and unique gift collections created in collaboration with local artists and makers.

Open Monday - Sunday, 10am - 5pm. Free entry (donations are welcome), some events and exhibitions may charge.

Major capital works to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery were made possible thanks to funding from the Government’s Museums Estate and Development Fund (MEND) through Arts Council England. We are hugely grateful to our funders FCC Communities Foundation, DCMS/Wolfson Foundation Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund and Friends of Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery for their generous support towards the reopening of the galleries in this phase of the redevelopment.
