Getting Here
Main Entrance
The main entrance is on Chamberlain Square, this entrance contains two flights of stairs, the lift entrance is located at the Gas Hall.
Gas Hall and Lift Entrances
The Gas Hall entrance is located on Edmund Street. If you approach from the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery main entrance on Chamberlain Square, walk past the entrance with it on your right and turn right. It is a short distance to the Gas Hall entrance which is on the left.
By Bus
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is located within a short walking distance of Colmore Row where a number of city centre buses terminate. All buses have links to their timetables on the National Express West Midlands website.

By Rail
Gas Hall at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is conveniently located near major railway stations including New Street and Snow Hill stations. Both are served by frequent West Midlands Railway services covering the wide geography of the region.
New Street Station
New Street station is 10 minutes walk away. From New Street Station main exit walk up Lower Temple Street and turn left onto New Street. Walk down New Street until you arrive at Victoria Square. Turn right at the end of the Council House building into Chamberlain Square, where the main entrance to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is located on the right. For the lift entrance, walk to the end of the building turn right onto Edmund Street, the Gas Hall entrance is on the left and the Waterhall is on the right.
Snow Hill Station
Snow Hill station is 10 minutes walk away. Turn right upon leaving Snow Hill Station onto Colmore Row. Walk down Colmore Row until you arrive at Victoria Square. Turn right at the end of the Council House building into Chamberlain Square, where the main entrance to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is located on the right. For the lift entrance, walk to the end of the building turn right onto Edmund Street, the Gas Hall entrance is on the left and Waterhall is on the right.

By Tram
Town Hall tram stop is the nearest to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, a few minutes walk away. This tram stop is on Line 1 of the West Midlands Metro and is located outside the Birmingham Town Hall. It is a 2 minute trip from the Grand Station tram stop outside New Street Station.

Upon parking and leaving the car park, exit and turn left onto Navigation Street, take the second left up Hill Street, continuing to Chamberlain Square. Walk by the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery front entrance and turn right onto Edmund Street. The Gas Hall entrance is on the left and the Waterhall entrance is on the right.
Blue Badge parking can also be found on Margaret Street and Edmund Street which are in close proximity to our Edmund Street lift entrance to Gas Hall and Waterhall.
