Sarehole Mill Book tickets

Sarehole Mill is a 250 year old idyllic watermill famous for its association with J.R.R Tolkien.

It is situated only four miles from Birmingham city centre.

The Mill

Sarehole Mill thas been used not only for corn grinding but also for metal trades such as sharpening tools, wire drawing and metal rolling.

The Mill Pond

The tranquil Mill Pond is a haven for wildlife including herons, mallards and moorhens - and if you are lucky you might spot our resident kingfisher!

Middle Earth

Explore Sarehole Mill’s links with Tolkien.

The Mill is part of the Tolkien Trail, which follows the childhood footsteps of the author and the places that influenced his writing.
