Museum of the Jewellery Quarter has been closed since 2020 and has undergone essential maintenance. We're a work in progress but the Smith & Pepper workshop is now open.

About

When the proprietors of the Smith & Pepper jewellery manufacturing firm retired in 1981 they simply ceased trading and locked the door, unaware they would be leaving a time capsule for future generations.

Today the factory is a remarkable museum, which tells the story of the Jewellery Quarter and Birmingham’s renowned jewellery and metalworking heritage.

Museum of the Jewellery Quarter opening times

Open Thursday to Saturday, 10.30am - 4pm. 

Entry is by guided tour only.

  • Tours at 10.45am, 11.15am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1pm, 1.45pm, 2.15pm, 2.45pm, 3.15pm and last approximately 45 minutes.
  • Admission charges apply. 

Pre-booking advised.

Closed: 25 - 26 December and 1 January.
