Join us at Thinktank for a day designed especially for home‑educating families! For this special event day, entry to the museum is completely free* for home‑educating children and their families. 

In addition, we are offering 10% discount in our shop and cafe as well as discounted memberships for home educators on this day.

Throughout the day, our Learning Team will be hosting a range of free drop‑in activities, offering opportunities to explore science through play, investigation, creativity, and curiosity.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

• Sensory Den
  A calm, immersive space for younger learners to explore light, sound, textures, and movement through gentle sensory play.
• Planetarium Walk‑Through
  Get a free taster of our planetarium and gaze at the wonder of the Northern Lights projected overhead —perfect for curious astronomers of all ages. There will also be a limited number of tickets available to purchase for planetarium shows at specific times during the day.
• LEGO Building Challenge
  Take on building challenges that put creativity and problem‑solving to the test. Towers, bridges, machines—what will you create?
• Forensic Investigation
  Collect clues, examine evidence, and put your detective skills into action as you work to solve a science‑based mystery.
• Awesome Animals
  Discover more about the amazing creatures in our natural science collections through fun, interactive activities.
• Human Body & Organs Stations
  Explore how the human body works with hands‑on models and activities focused on organs, systems, senses, and more.
• Object Handling
  Get up close to real museum objects and learn the stories they tell.
• Kitchen Science
  A hands-on STEM adventure where everyday kitchen ingredients lead to extraordinary discoveries! Try a new experiment you can easily recreate at home.

Entry is free for registered home‑educating families, but advanced booking is required. If you are no longer able to attend or no longer require your tickets, please inform us so that we can make the spaces available to another family.
