Step back in time at Aston Hall and see where our modern Christmas celebrations started from as we take you on a Christmas guided tour of Aston Hall. 

Bathed in the warm glow of LED candles, experience this Grade 1 listed building at night as we guide you through Christmases past. 

Taking inspiration from ‘Old Christmas’ by the author Washington Irving who witnessed the old traditions of Christmas at Aston Hall, let us guide you round the hall as you learn about how modern Christmas celebrations came to be such as the Yule Log and the Christmas Tree. Set in the likely location of Irving’s ‘Bracebridge Hall’, revel in tales of how Christmas was celebrated in the beautiful candlelit Grand Old Mansion. 

This is an event not to be missed to get you into the Christmas spirit from the place where our modern Christmas celebrations are likely to have come from.

• Event runs Friday 12 - Sunday 14 December.
• Tours will last 45 minutes and will start from the cafe in the North Courtyard.
• Spaces on the tour are strictly limited so our visitors can enjoy their tour so please allow enough time to arrive before your time slot.
• Our café will be open for light refreshments.
• Suitable for all ages.

Pre-booking is essential as no tickets will be available for purchase on the door.

Accessibility: Aston Hall is not fully accessible to wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties. The ground floor of Aston Hall is accessible to all visitors. However, the upper floors are accessed by stairs only, there is no lift due to the Grade 1 listed status of the building. For more details see the accessibility information.
