Discover Ancient Greek Theatre at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery! We will discuss the history of theatre in Ancient Greece and perform part of the tale of Perseus and Medusa.

Using our wide range of collections, both real and replica, with a little help from some entertaining dressing-up opportunities and group acting, we will discover the history of theatre in Ancient Greece.

  • Examine replica Ancient Greek masks.
  • Hear the history of Greek theatre and some examples of stories.
  • Your students will then perform part of the story of Perseus, using costumes and props to bring the story to life.

Important Information

Parts of the tour will require movement and action, particularly whilst acting out the story. If your class has any access needs, please contact us in advance so steps can be taken to ensure everyone has the best experience.
