Each year Birmingham Museums offers a range of academic placements for students aged 18 plus.

We are not currently offering opportunities for work experience (for those age 15 plus).

Academic Placements

Our academic placement opportunities are available for students 18 years or over who are linked to an educational organisation, we are keen where possible to offer experiences which connect to an individual’s studies.

Any academic placements that we can offer will be advertised within academic institutions with which we have linked. If you are interested in undertaking an academic placement with us, please speak with your coordinator at your academic institution who can contact the HR team directly to see what might be possible.

Please note due to an increasingly high level of demand we are unable to support all enquiries for an academic placement.

Work Experience

Our current work experience placements have now closed. We will not be offering any more placements until at least winter 2024. Please do check back in the next academic year for updates.
