Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT) is inviting Tenders from appropriately qualified companies and individuals to help deliver work in connection with the 'From Foundations to Future' project.

This is the next phase of a wider project that will take forward BMT’s planning and preparations to enable the organisation to successfully make the case for, and deliver, a sector leading and impactful capital project at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

From Foundations to Future is made possible thanks to National Lottery players, through The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Project and Cost Manager

Birmingham Museums Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Project and Cost Manager to provide week-to-week management, coordination and delivery support for the 12 month Foundations to Future programme. The Project and Cost Manager will guide and coordinate the various workstreams, ensure the flow of information between internal staff and external consultants, maintain programme momentum and support robust control mechanisms while allowing appropriate space for creativity and exploration. The Project and Cost Manager will work closely with BMT’s internal Project Manager and Project Director, client team, internal workstream leads and commissioned consultants to sequence activity, manage interfaces, monitor programme, budget and risk, and ensure that outputs are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with the requirements of The National Lottery Heritage Fund application and wider programme brief.

Evaluation Consultant

Birmingham Museums Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Evaluation Consultant to assess the effectiveness, impact and learning of a 12 month capacity building project called From Foundations to Future - the Pre-Development Phase for the redevelopment of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Interpretation Framework Consultant

Birmingham Museums Trust seeks to appoint an experienced Interpretation Consultant (or team) as part of the From Foundations to Future project - the Pre-Development Phase for the redevelopment of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG). The Consultant will be expected to firstly develop an organisation-wide Interpretation Framework establishing shared principles, approaches, and guidance for interpretation across all nine Birmingham Museums sites and programmes. Followed by the development of a BMAG-specific Interpretation Strategy that applies this framework in depth, supporting early redevelopment thinking and acting as a flagship and test-bed for the wider Trust.

Business Strategy Consultant

Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT) seeks to appoint an experienced Business Strategy Consultant (or team) as part of the From Foundations to Future project - the Pre-Development Phase for the redevelopment of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG). Working with Birmingham Museums' leadership team and staff, the consultant will further develop our existing Business Plan and Strategy from 2025-30 to 2037; incorporating the operating model and financial impact of the preferred option for the future development of BMAG.

Options Appraisal Consultant

Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT) seeks to appoint an experienced architect, supported by appropriate MEP input, structural advice, access considerations, and fire considerations, as required, to work collaboratively with BMT staff and the wider From Foundations to Future consultant team, to develop a robust, evidence-based set of capital intervention options for the redevelopment of part of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, leading to a preferred scope of works that can inform a major heritage funding application and be incorporated into BMT's long-term Business Plan and financial model.

Budget: £40,000 excluding VAT
