Are you looking to experience working in a museum? Or hoping to get some behind the scenes knowledge? Or maybe you just want to find out about the working world.
Birmingham Museum’s Trust is the largest independent charitable trust of museums in the UK and we offer a range of opportunities for work experience and academic placements.
Please read the below carefully to make sure you are following the right route in your enquiry.
Birmingham Museums Trust offer a number of work experience placements throughout the year.
Our work experience programme is open to anyone 15 years or over who is not currently in employment. Each placement is one or two weeks long and is a great chance to gain some experience of the sector, develop your skills and knowledge, as well as getting a general awareness of the working world.
We have now filled all our 2019 placements, and we will welcome over 60 people on work experience this year. Our opportunities for work experience with us in 2020 will become available for applications in December. Please do continue to check this page for further details.
Please note due to an increasingly high level of demand we are unable to offer work experience opportunities outside of our advertised placements.
Birmingham Museums Trust is keen to support academic placements where possible which connect to an individual’s studies.
Academic placements will be advertised within academic institutions with which we have linked. If you are interested in completing an academic placement with us, please speak with your coordinator at your academic institution who can get in contact with the HR team directly to see what might be possible.
Please note due to an increasingly high level of demand we are unable to support all enquiries for an academic placement.
