About Live printing demonstrations with Stirchley Printworks
This February Half Term, drop in and discover the fascinating world of printmaking with a live demonstration by Stirchley Printworks at Thinktank Science Museum. Watch skilled printers create prints by hand using traditional techniques, explaining each step along the way as an image is pressed onto paper using special printing machines.
This hands-on style demonstration is a great chance for children and adults alike to see how ink, paper, pressure, and machines work together to make art. You’ll be able to ask questions, get up close to the process, and learn how people have been using machines to create images for hundreds of years and connect with the rich history of printing as both a science and an art.
A relaxed, interactive experience that brings together science, art, creativity, and engineering. Perfect for curious minds of all ages.
