Rachael Minott
Rachael is a Jamaican-born artist, researcher and curator. Her visual art practice engages a mixed discipline practice, reflecting particularly on the Jamaican art historical cannon alongside the region’s contemporary issues.
Her work has been exhibited, including Modern Art Oxford; The House of Praise, Bristol; OXO Tower London; The 4th Ghetto Biennale, Haiti; and the National Gallery of Jamaica. Her research has been published widely and includes interventions in decolonial curatorial and heritage practice, art history, and museology.
Minott’s decolonial curatorial practice includes exhibitions at London Transport Museum, Robert Sainsbury Library, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, The Horniman Museum and Gardens and The Black Cultural Archives.
She has extensive experience in facilitation and consultancy work and in addition to her work with Birmingham Museums Trust she is currently Trustee for the Museum of Homelessness, joint Head of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at the National Archives.
