Visit Blakesley Hall for an exciting two-hour workshop where you will hear and take part in the retelling of two myths and legends. Perfect for cross-curricular study incorporating English, Drama and History.

During this Learning Officer led session we will delve into two exciting, traditional English stories with different ways for the children to take part and interact with the storytelling. We will first hear the classic story of Beowulf, which will be acted out within Blakesley Hall (we recommend checking that the content of this story is suitable for your class).

Your class will then discover a local story, the tale of the Gilbertstone Giant and how in legend he brought a huge stone to Yardley that now stands in the grounds of Blakesley Hall. Your class will then have a go at making their own mythical origin story for the Gilbertstone.
