Taught On-Site Sessions Across Our Venues

On-site sessions are currently on hold during the National Lockdown. However we are still working with schools, our  Museum in a Box loans service and Virtual Sessions are available to book.

On-site sessions are available at four of our museums: Thinktank, Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall and Sarehole Mill. (On-site sessions are not available at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery during 2021 as the gallery is closed while essential electrical upgrading takes place).

To make the most of your museum experience we have simplified the way you choose your on-site sessions; you  can now choose either a full or half-day Discovery Day package that operates within social distancing measures.

Discovery Days

Our new Discovery Days operate across our sites and have been developed across a broad range of history, art and science subjects. They are designed to give safe and secure museum visits.

Groups will have a fantastic opportunity to engage in exciting themed activities with our museum educators, with the opportunity to have a fully guided tour around our galleries and sites.

What is involved in a Full Discovery Day?

A group can visit one of our sites for the whole day having maximum of four hours of teaching with time to have lunch at our site. You will have a dedicated facilitator for the day from our experienced Learning and Engagement Team.

Price: £375.

What is involved in a Half Discovery Day?

A group will spend a maximum of two hours on site on a facilitated session with one of our experts from the Learning and Engagement Team.

Price: £240.
