Event: Victorian Valentines with Leah Hickey

Join artist, writer, and current Whitworth Wallis Fellow Leah Hickey on Saturday 14 February, in hand-crafting your very own vintage-inspired Valentine for a friend or loved one.

Set within our world-leading Pre-Raphaelite displays, let the beauty and intimate story-telling invite you to slow down, reflect and create in this historic, art-rich setting.
During this event you will draw inspiration from Birmingham Museums' precious collection of Victorian-era Valentines and hand-craft a keepsake using Romantic prose and poetry from decorative die-cut 'scraps' and collage them to explore the enduring power of handwritten words.

Whether you come with someone special or on your own, prepare for an afternoon of poetry, self-expression, romance, and heartfelt creations that are perfect for this Valentines season.

All materials are provided and free tea and coffee are available with your ticket.
