As a registered charity, we rely on the support of generous individuals who share our love of Birmingham and believe in the power of culture for creativity, hope and trust. In these times of great uncertainty, this support has never been more crucial.  We enjoy getting to know our supporters and sharing our work with the people who make it possible.

Patrons

We consider those who donate from £300 a year, or £25 a month, and above part of our family of Patrons, an important and active part of our community at Birmingham Museums Trust - passionate about art, history and our city.  Our Patrons enjoy spending time with like-minded people to understand the impact of their support, from getting to know our specialist staff to seeing our work and collections behind the scenes, and celebrating special moments with us.

How your support can help:

  • A donation of £300 a year or £25 a month could support a group of volunteers to develop employability skills, make a meaningful contribution to our work and connect with their local community.
  • A donation of £600 a year or £50 a month could enable young people who have never experienced museums before to enjoy a learning session with their school, providing vital access to cultural education through hands-on activities with real artefacts.
  • A donation of £1200 a year or £100 a month could allow us to restore an important artwork for display, continuing our essential work in caring for our collections so that they can be enjoyed by future generations.
  • A donation of £5000 a year could commission an emerging artist to explore new ideas and develop new work, supporting an artist's career and inspiring visitors with new perspectives.

Forward Circle

Our Forward Circle is named after the city’s motto, representing the city’s determined and progressive spirit. It brings together ambitious donors of £5,000 and above to collectively make a positive difference in Birmingham’s cultural future.

We know how important it is to understand the impact of your donation and so we will discuss with you your specific areas of interest and the relationship you would like to have. This might mean talking with our teams about how we provide cultural education for the most disadvantaged in our communities, finding out more about our sector leading approach to connecting people with collections, or seeing first-hand how we care for our extremely special collection of Pre-Raphaelite art.
