Thinktank is one of the region's premier centres for business events including banquets, conferences, corporate events and Christmas parties.

Thinktank has versatile spaces, dramatic architecture and fascinating museum exhibits. We're the only venue in the Midlands where delegates can enjoy their canapés either under the wings of Spitfire and Hurricane fighter planes or with a talking robot.

Thinktank is available for hire for all types of corporate events, from meetings and conferences, to conventions, product launches and receptions.

The Event Suite

  • A versatile 300 square meters of flexible, blank canvas space. You can use our partition walls to divide the space into a variety of layouts including one, two or three areas.
  • It has a maximum standing capacity of 250 people.
  • It has your own dedicated entrance plus a reception area to meet and greet your guests.
  • Complimentary WiFi for you and your guests comes as standard.
  • Situated next to the Futures Gallery you can entertain your guests alongside fascinating exhibits.

The event suite and reception area have been refurbished and now offer brand-new features including:

  • Customisable lighting
    We can tailor the lighting to reflect your brand or set that perfect mood for your event.
  • State-of-the-art audio sound system
    Giving ultimate clarity with auto-levelling technology,ensuring complete stability in the audio in the space and over steaming. The sound system is also completely flexible, meaning we can send any microphone to any specific speaker.
  • Inbuilt screens and projectors
    Including 50” screens and 98” monitor displaying 4k video. These are fully flexible, as any video can be sent to any screen in the suite.
  • Livestreaming Service
    Perfect for hybrid events, this great service will enable you to maximise the reach of your content ensuring that your delegates don’t miss out however far away they are.

Thinktank Theatre

  • For large presentations the Thinktank Theatre offers a great alternative, and with projection on to three screens within the auditorium your guests.
  • It has a maximum capacity of 180 people.
  • You’ll have use of our projectors, microphones and sound system to get the very best from your event.
  • Technical support will be available throughout your event.

Planetarium

  • Our 70 seat Planetarium offers a unique immersive experience to wow your delegates.
  • It has large and comfy seats that encourage you to sit back and relax.
  • Hire this space for your own presentations, or book a presenter led Planetarium show where you can explore the stars or choose from other themes.

Thinktank Galleries

  • Spread over four floors, Thinktank offers a compelling and entertaining venue space with everything from a steam locomotive to a talking robot to entertain your guests.
  • This Past Gallery is dedicated to the industrial heritage of Birmingham, complete with steam engines, cars and trains plus great views of our Spitfire and Hurricane planes. We can accommodate dining on this floor for up to 200 people or drinks receptions for 350.
  • The Future Gallery showcases space exploration, robots and scientists’ predictions for the future. The space can accommodate dining for up to 50 people or drinks receptions for 150 guests.

From light bites to banqueting Thinktank’s catering fully lives up to our reputation for quality.

  • We can provide silver service, sandwiches, banquets or buffets, with a choice of menus to suit your event, with wines to match.
  • We source fresh ingredients, offer organic and seasonal options and can cater for all dietary requirements.
  • If you’re looking for something particularly special – our in-house team can work with you to produce a bespoke menu to meet your needs.

  • Adaptable Event Suite can accommodate up to 250 for drinks receptions or from 50 - 200 for private dining
  • Four floors of interactive exhibits offering space for up to 600 for drinks receptions or 50 - 200 for private dining and parties
  • Romantic dinners for 2 under the stars in the Planetarium – or use this unique space to “pop the question”.
  • Dedicated events team to work with you to create the perfect occasion to suit your requirements.
