While Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museums remains closed to the public for the immediate future, we’re pleased that this amazing venue along with Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will both be available for parties and events this Christmas, offering a safe and special space to celebrate.
We have two Christmas packages available:
- Christmas Parties: Enjoy a festive four course dinner with drinks at either Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery or Thinktank.
- Christmas Receptions: Celebrate with an exclusive Christmas drinks reception at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Dine in festive style at either at Thinktank or Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery with a delicious, freshly prepared four course dinner and drinks.
Your Christmas party will begin with a drink on arrival alongside the City of Birmingham locomotive and beneath the Spitfire and Hurricane. Then take your seat to enjoy a freshly prepared four course dinner set amongst our heritage car and motorbike exhibits. Drinks will be available throughout the evening from our licensed bar which will be open until midnight. Finally, end your evening with dancing in the newly refurbished Signal Box café which is situated adjacent to the City of Birmingham locomotive.
At Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
Your Christmas party will begin with a drink on arrival in the elegant and historic Round Room. Then take your seat for a freshly prepared festive four course dinner in the stunning Industrial Gallery. Drinks will be available throughout the evening from our licensed bar in the Edwardian Tearooms, which will be open until midnight. Finally, end your evening with dancing in the Edwardian Tearooms.
Venue hire: £1,000 + VAT
£40 per person + VAT
Includes arrival drink, four course dinner, festive novelties and licensed bar until midnight.

We recognise that things have been tough this year, and so for a limited period take advantage of our early bird discount and reduce the venue hire charge, shown above, by 25%. This offer is available for bookings confirmed by 30th September 2020. T&C’s apply.
Also, if you must cancel due to COVID-19 we won’t charge a fee. (Only applicable for cancellations directly relating to Government advice on COVID-19 in relation to events T&C’s apply.)
- Spiced butternut and sweet potato soup (v)
- Dill and potato salad finished with pepper mackerel
Accompanied by a selection of artisan breads
- Traditional roast Shropshire turkey accompanied with sage and onion seasoning, and chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon
- Slow roast shank of lamb glazed with redcurrant reduction
- Mediterranean roast vegetable and parmesan wellington served with vegetarian reduction (v)
Accompanied by a selection of seasonal vegetables
Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce and vanilla cream
Chocolate ganache tart, fresh raspberries and mint reduction

We offer the opportunity for you to host your own exclusive Christmas drinks reception at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Locations include the VIP area of the Edwardian Tearooms or the elegant splendour of the historic Round Room Gallery.
£40 per person + VAT. Includes the complimentary use of the VIP area in the Edwardian Tearooms, for 1 hour between 4–6pm. Minimum 15 guests, maximum 40 guests.
Round Room Gallery
For larger groups, exclusive use of the Round Room Gallery is available, from 6pm for an additional £1,000 + VAT.
