This collection dates from the late Middle Ages to the 20th century and elements were amongst Birmingham’s earliest acquisitions, serving as inspiration for local craftsmen.

Our examples of 17th century silverware are of considerable importance in European art history. The collection contains gifts and purchases from collectors of international standing, such as Ann Hull-Grundy and Stefano Bardini, which are now split between national and international museums around the world.
