About Behind the Vault
Handle the history that helped save lives in space.
In this exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience at Thinktank, step beyond the display cases and get closer than ever to the remarkable artifacts of The Space Vault Exhibition.
Led by The Space Vault Exhibition Curator Dr Michael Warner, these small-group sessions allow participants to wear white gloves and examine up close a curated selection of rare and one-of-a-kind objects, including the original Apollo 9 and Apollo 13 lunar module checklists—vital tools that played a role in the survival of the Apollo 13 crew.
This is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect with the real materials of human spaceflight, guided by an expert in the field.
Spaces are extremely limited. Advance booking essential.
“Thank you very much for an unforgettable evening! We all enjoyed it immensely”, participant to the Behind-the-Vault session on Apollo 13, March, 2025
“I must say we really enjoyed the Behind-the-Vault session and meeting you. I particular enjoyed the interactive exercises that you challenged us with, linking the geology notes with the video/sound recordings and transcripts and also linking the pieces of coring equipment with the science programme, it brought it all to life”. Participant in the Behind-the-Vault session on Apollo 17 geology, April 2025
