About Cinema Under The stars: WALL-E
Step into our Thinktank Planetarium for a cinema-style screening. Unwind and enjoy a specially selected themed films for Earth Day, in a setting designed to inspire curiosity and wonder.
This week’s feature: Wall-e
A robot who is responsible for cleaning a waste-covered Earth meets another robot and falls in love with her. Together, they set out on a journey that will alter the fate of mankind.
Before the screening:
Celebrate Earth Day at Thinktank with a full day of hands-on activities inspired by this year’s theme, Planet vs Plastic. Enjoy eco-crafts with Wild Earth Movement, a rescue-clay workshop with Roo Dishoo, and talks on Birmingham’s urban wildlife with expert Lucas Large. Experience live biofeedback music by Moss and Mycelium, special Earth Day screenings in the planetarium, kitchen-science experiments, and handling hubs featuring natural specimens. Plus, discover sustainable treats in the café and eco-friendly products in the shop. A lively, family-friendly event designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and climate-conscious thinking.

Arrive from 4pm
Film begins promptly at 4:30pm in our Planetarium on Level 3
Pre-booking essential as places are limited.
This film was not made to be projected in a full-dome format, but we will be using our big cinema screen inside the dome.
Please note: Doors will close at the start of the screening. Late admission will not be permitted to avoid disruption.
Access to the Planetarium is from Level 0, the Main Entrance of the Thinktank Science Museum.
