Step into our Thinktank Planetarium for a cinema-style screening. Unwind and enjoy a specially selected space-themed film in a setting designed to inspire curiosity and wonder.

Don't miss our special collaboration with Whatever Pays the Rent this November as we bring David Lynch's iconic Dune (1984) to the big screen for a one-off cinematic experience ahead of Denis Villeneuve's final instalment in December.  Experience this bizarre space opera inside our cinema dome, starring Kyle MacLachlan in his debut film, alongside Sting and Patrick Stewart, with a soundtrack composed by Toto and Brian Eno.  

Whatever Pays the Rent is a one-woman-led DIY cinema project that puts on bespoke film events across Birmingham with handmade touches and immersive details.

Once you've presented your tickets at the welcome desk, you're free to explore the museum before the film.

Planetarium doors open at 6:25 pm.
The Planetarium is located on Level 3.

The film starts at 6.30 pm.
There are no trailers, and the film will start promptly.
It's difficult for us to admit latecomers, so please aim to arrive with plenty of time to spare!

Pre-booking is essential as places are limited. Seating is unallocated.

This film was not made to be projected in a full-dome format, but we will be using our big cinema screen inside the dome.
