Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Selected days Drop-inAbout Live printing demonstrations with Stirchley Printworks
Join us for an informal, friendly drop-in session to watch live Joe Lycett-inspired printmaking in action.
This relaxed, hands-on session is part of the first major solo exhibition of paintings by Joe Lycett, opening at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in July 2026. EVERY THING MUST GO explores the theme of “things that are no longer with us,” featuring a bold salon-style display of deceased celebrities, discontinued chocolate bars, extinct animals, and destroyed buildings. Lycett’s aim is to overwhelm and delight visitors with what he describes as a “neon graveyard.”
During your visit, you’ll work alongside expert printers from Stirchley Printworks, who will guide you through the process of creating your own print using traditional techniques. See how ink, paper, pressure, and specialist equipment come together as you take part in a live, hands-on making experience.
A relaxed and interactive experience, perfect for curious minds of all ages.
